Spaghetti with Italian Sausage

Maggiano’s of Las Vegas

Spaghetti with Italian Sausage
Eater rating: 4.5 / 5  4.5

Tonight’s post is a little different. I’m in Vegas, and Amanda is in San Diego :-(. However, the blog must go on! Using space-age technology we have managed to have a conversation about what I ate today (since I’m the one with the camera). I had spaghetti and Italian sausage at a restaurant called Maggiano’s.

T: so did you look at the picture I posted?
A: i did indeed! that italian sausage looks quite yummy. i’m envious, i’ll be eating a leftover roasted chicken salad for dinner. Where did you get this from?
T: Got it from a place called Maggiano’s. It’s an italian restaurant at the Fashion Show Mall across from the Wynn hotel.
A: what did you think of it?
T: the sausage was actually awesome. In fact, it was all pretty good. The sausage was my favorite part, though. It had a vibrant, fresh flavor. Quite good. So, what kind of salad will your roasted chicken salad be?
A: a sinach and mixed baby field greens salad with whatever veggies are in the house. nothing too exciting. i doubt i will even make a vinegarette for it. Do you think the sausage was made fresh at the restaurant?
T: It could have been. Tasted quite good, but you never know. Cisco does some amazing things.
A: true dat! cisco definately allows restaurants to appear as though they are the shit with high quality preprepared foods that people can’t tell are come from them! was the sauce good? it looks good.
T: Yes it was good. It tasted fresh (thanks, Cisco! 😉 ), and was not at all too heavy. I gave this meal a 4.5/5. It was a pleasant surprise, because going into the meal I had low expectations. I’m generally wary of restaurants attached to malls.
A: that feeling of weariness is definately a safe feeling. most things attached to malls are unsatisfying. have you seen any good pastries or anything inside the hotels??
T: no, I haven’t. I haven’t been to those parts of the hotels I guess. The hotels are so freaking big it’s easy to miss parts.
A: yup, to find the really great pastry chefs you might have to look in some of the really nice restaurants. a quick look at the dessert menu might be a telling sign. vegas has some extraordinary restaurants (if you have the 200 bucks a head to eat there)!
T: Yeah, I’m hoping to find some good pastries to bring you tomorrow morning. I’m sure i’ll find something
A: if not, i think i might be able to forgive you! it will just give us a reason to go to that recommended dessert place in la jolla!
T: which place is that?
A: i can’t remember the name but it is around the maseratti dealership and the ipod-vending Vons.
T: Ah, yes. We shall definately go there. … So, I gotta say, it’s kinda lame chatting over ICQ in completely different cities! Much rather be sitting in the same room.
A: 100% ditto on that one. It’s totally lame that i had to stay home and work while you guys got to go to vegas for the weekend. Bummer man.
T: yeah total bummer. 🙁
A: 😀 oh well, you’ll be back tomorrow night! that’s exciting! then we can get back to our usually bloggety blog blog blogging! 😀
T: Yes indeed! What will we eat for supper tomorrow night?
A: i don’t think you will be getting back in time for supper! i don’t think you are going to leave there until like five or something. 🙁 so you had better plan on taking a pic of something in LV and posting that. It won’t be until monday when we get back to both eating what we’re blogging.
T: We’re leaving at 1:30ish tomorrow. We’ll be back in time for supper. If we’re late we’ll give you a call.
A: awesome!!! 🙂 WOO HOO!!! i wasn’t planning on getting to see you guys at all tomorrow! how exciting! (that was a lot of exclamations) now i have a dinner to think about.
T: woo hoo! 😀 Speaking of “woo hoo!” we’re eating Thai tonight! 😀
A: you lucky duck! first italian, then thai. i had a sandwich at three am last night, and will be fixing my salad here soon. woo…hoo? i am quite excited for you though. eat something spicy for me, okay?
T: yes I will request MAX spice.
A: as it should be homes, as it should be.
T: ok, well, the strippers just showed up so I guess we should say goodbye.
A: tell them i said they aren’t allowed to give you any STDs, cool?? 😉
T: Ok, I asked them, they said they were clean. No worries. 😉
A: Alright then, peace out!
T: Adios!

Kwaherini mabibi na mabwana!
