I just came across this recipe for scallop sandwiches - it sounds absolutely delicious. The last time we had scallops was as a starter at a friend's house - and they were scrummy. I will try this recipe as an alternative when they come back to us. Many thanks.

well these days it seems like it's getting harder and harder to find great food in town! If you like burgers :) the Corner down on 11th and Island is out of control. I wake up in the middle of the night craving their fried green tomatoes and hippie burger. Plus, you can build your burgers, tons of different unique toppings, yum! We also went out to the new Crescent Heights on Broadway... I have to say, one of the best meals I've had in years, but expensive :( the freshest seafood known to man. it's just unnatural! jk anyway. I would recommend it, but drink enough so that the bill won't kill you. And He and I have come and gone from the city... I grew up in north county, moved away for a bit, and now I've been back about a year. This time around, he's goin' on about 4 years. But... we just moved in to Banker's Hill and we love it!

I have a confession to make... I absolutely love your blog... but that's not the bad part... I use so many of your ideas to cook [more like trick into putting up with me :)] for my boyfriend, he's quite the foodie as am I. Thank you so much for all of the amazing ideas, we cook at home every night and you've given us so much cool new flavors to try. I think we're neighbors of sorts, too! We live in Bankers Hill, and it's nice to know that someone out there still eats to live and lives to eat (and drink) in sd.

you know bobby, i think it's the publicness that gets me to respond! i love you guys and don't want you to feel ignored... but in email, i just read it, want to respond, get distracted and never get around to it again! then a year has gone by and clarke is almost one! so how big is your patch of asparagus?!? that would be a great thing to have in the garden! you know, i've never actually had jerusaem artichokes! been reading about them for years but don't actually recall an opportunity to buy them! i'm definitely glad to hear gustav didn't torment you guys too badly! and tell heather (heather this parts for you!) she doesn't need to shut you up! i like long comments! makes me feel like the blogs still going! (... just don't get toooo personal!)

Email? this is more fun. People can see how mean they really need to be to you Amanda, or should we start calling you MAN-dee? Not to offend the real Mandy from the earlier post. Yes I am still at the place downtown, but have been applying for state jobs, and had an interview so maybe i'll get lucky. The storm actually cleaned out and killed a lot of stuff i've been meaning to pull out, but couldn't bring myself to yank out. The jerusalem artichokes are the only thing really damaged, but just blown over and they keep on growing. A few things did die from way too much water, but nothing I was too attached to. I think the asparagus really liked all of the rain because it has exploded, and hopefully it will do just as well next year, its second year, and our first harvest. How is that for something that should have been an email???? And I could have gone on much much longer, just ask heather.
