Lentil and Smoked Pork Soup
T: This was a good one. The flavor had a lot of complexity.
A: Thanks. Was there anything in general that really struck you?
T: I couldn’t pin the soup to any particular ethnicity. It wasn’t quite like any soup I’d ever had.
A: awesome. I suppose it wasn’t any one ethnicity. It was influenced by the East and the southern US, mainly.
T: I rate this one a 9.4/10. It was very tasty, and was new and exciting to my palate. Bravo.
A: Asante sana, bwana. I enjoyed this one as well. I give it an 8.84/10. It’s just some damn hearty goodness. Lentils are good for you, and I skimmed a lot of the fat out from using the smoked pork, so it’s full of flavor without loads of fat.
T: it’s certainly full of flavor.
A: it appears tonight’s a short night. Neither of us have much to say, it seems.
T: I sit quietly.
Kwaherini mabibi na mabwana.
