Stuffed Lambburger with Ratatouille « What We’re Eating – A Food & Recipe Blog

Stuffed Lambburger with Ratatouille

Today we’re eating a sheep’s milk feta stuffed lambburger seasoned with rosemary, thyme, and garlic. The burger is topped with raita, shaved red onions, roasted red peppers, and assorted squash on rosemary sourdough toast. The ratatouille is made with yellow squash, zucchini, eggplant, fresh herbs, onions, garlic, and tomatoes.

A: This weekend we’ve had two guest raters enjoying the meal with us.
T: yup, that would be Stephen Durrett (my dad), and Wilton Landry.
A: so, what’d they think, T?
T: I believe Dad said it was the best lambburger he’d ever had. Not a bad compliment?
A: no, not a bad compliment, but… he also said that it was the only lambburger he’d ever had. hehehheh
T: heheheh… Wilton commented that the meal was a “festival of flavors.”
A: so, what’re your thoughts on the burger, big man T?
T: It was awesome. I like the squash on the burger. And, whew, what can I say. You put feta in ground lamb and grilled it. Props on that. It was awesome.
A: How ’bout the ratatouille?
T: It was good, although I’m not the biggest eggplant fan. It was tasty, though. I give the meal a 9.3/10. The lamburger was terrific. Not quite to the level as the previous lambburger that we enjoyed here at whatwereeating.com, but still terrific. The cumin added an interesting flavor. mmm.
A: welp, I give the burger an 8.54, and the ratatouille an 8.7. I thoroughly enjoyed the ratatouille, and completely agree with you that this lambburger was not of the same caliber as the last one we ate. The raita wasn’t as good as the cuccumber sauce that I made for the last burger, and I thought the goat’s milk yogurt I used gave it a little bit of an off flavor.
T: for those of us who don’t know, what in the heck is a raita?
A: it’s a cuccumber sauce, basically. It’s of middle eastern origin. And this particular raita had paprika, cumin, lime juice, salt, and, of course, our goat’s milk yogurt.
T: I’d like to give a shout out to Whips. I forget which yogurt company makes them. Maybe Dannon. I don’t know. Wheeweee the chocolate raspberry flavor makes a fine dessert.
A: I believe I’ve heard you say it’s almost like a mousse, huh?
T: yeah. It does have a nice yogurt flavor, though. Good stuff.
A: you know what that makes me want?
T: huh?
A: it makes me want some plain frozen yogurt from Counter Culture, except I’m reeally full right now.
T: me, too, and we have to save our appetite for supper with Ghee.
A: so, for all you hardcore whatwereeating followers, check back later. maybe we’ll have a second posting for the day.

Kwaherini mabibi na mabwana.
