New site: FoodPornDaily!

We’re really stoked to introduce a new site that we’ve been working on for a while now. Check it out! Our goal is to provide at least one amazing food photo everyday. That’s all we’ve got to say right now, but we’ll keep you up to date as things progress. And don’t worry, we are not abandoning What We’re Eating for this new project! :-)

    Oh yeah, I get to cook a 50# pig for the Fourth of July. I came up with my magic rub, and guess what it has in it? Star anise, fennel seed, garlic, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, coriander, and oil. Okay so it probably was no surprise, but I tested it on pork tenderloin last week at work and it was pretty damn good. I figure three days with the rub on it then 6 to 8 hours at 225 should do the trick, and of course it is skin on, head on, and feet. Can’t wait for some tongue!!! and Jowls!!!! and trotters!!!!

The chicken and cilantro pesto recipe can be found here! on whatwereeating.com! most of the recipes come from here… and the frozen yogurt picture is from Nicole at Pinch My Salt! let us know if there are any other photos you’d like to see if we have the recipes for and we’ll see what we can do!

    bobby, it’s been freaking AGES since i’ve gotten to eat some whole roasted pig. while you’re seasoning sounds typical for you, it still makes me drool thinking about it! i hope you guys are well! i miss talking to you guys both.. but that my own damn fault! let me know how the piggy goes!

    thanks jessie! so far we don’t have any books in the works… although we’re open to it if a publisher wants to contact us! ;-) we’ve tossed around the idea of doing it ourselves but it really seems like it would be a ton of work w/o much payoff - at least initially!

    Yeah, but it doesn’t taste like you mighty think it does. You could use the same five spices or flavorings and by changing the ratios of them come up with an almost limitless palate of flavors. Although I am using star anise and fennel, because they are not major ingredients, they soften the bite of the garlic, and chilis, and the cinnamon is used in such a small amount, only sweetening the brown sugar and giving a bit more depth to the anise flavors while helping boost the coriander yet helping it remain mysterious. It sort of tastes like five spice, but more savory and not so sweet, but maybe whispering a sweet nothing in your ear.

    I am a cook by profession. Not a chef, sadly, but 29yrs married, 4 kids, and cooking is my job profession here in W. Tennessee. You know what we eat here!! Your web site is fantastic to me. The pictures of your food is as appealing as the recipes are. They are no help to me wanting to lose winter weight that I put on! Yet, they are certainly inspiring!!!! Where I work, my boss lets me “mad scientist” in the kitchen. I am always looking for something not typical here in Fried Catfish, Pulled Pork country!! But still appealing to get people to try new things. As well as in my own home….
    Keep up the good work, like I said, the pictures on your Food Porn site?? Are Fantastic!!!!!!!! Look forward to anything new ya’ll may add!!!

    Congrats, Tyler and Amanda! Gee, its been long since I’ve been here, but clearly you two have been busy (as have I)! The site is AWESOME, I have already drooled twice on my keyboard and let me tell you, it is NOT scotch guarded (will be sending you the bill for that shortly). Seriously, you guys take some of the best food photos I have ever seen, so this is clearly a perfect venture for you guys. I wish you all the luck in the world and then some bacon!

    martin, foodporndaily actually isn’t from any template! tyler crafted the website from scratch… as that is his profession and he is great at it. (if i do say so myself - whether i’m biased or not). He has talked about making it into a template that’s available for others but for right now, we have so much on our plate that things like that are on the back burner. i love your work though and do think that it would be be featured nicely on a template similar to what tyler created! we will let you know if/when he makes it available as a template.

    Your site is fantastic, I love looking at the food you guys are eating. I’d love to visit your new site but, well, I’m not sure visiting a site with porn in the title at work is a good idea! I’ve been lurking for a year or so now and thought I’d finally post a comment. Thanks for the great site!
