Rogue Mocha Porter

Rogue Mocha Porter

Look at all of that thick, creamy head!
Eater rating: 3.9 / 5  3.9

Here at What We’re Eating, we love our beer. In fact, we love beer so much that we’ve decided to do full-on reviews on some of the libations we’re currently enjoying. So, let the bubbles start flowing and lets get hoppin’! 😉

The Beer
Rogue Mocha Porter
Brewed by Rogue Ales Brewery, Newport, OR
5.3% Alcohol
Style: American Porter

Our Take
In the past we have deeply loved some of the beers that Rogue produced and, fortunately, the Mocha Porter didn’t let us down. We found this American Style Porter to be mildly creamy yet also slightly crisp and refreshing due to the level of hops. Roasty chocolate/coffee tones are evident both on the nose and the palate as you would expect with the word “mocha” in the name but neither of the flavors really overwhelm the beer. Overall we enjoyed this beer and would happily drink it again in the future. Our Rating: 3.9/5

Is it wrong that a beer close-up makes me drool? I haven’t tasted this one, but I love Rogue and I love porters. So why exactly wasn’t I invited over for this one?

Nicole, it is soooo not wrong. i’m drooling as we speak. it’s starting to puddle actually. Um, you’re always invited, woman! And I’m always drinking beer… frequently even good beer. Come on over, ya hurd! 😉

Ha! I’m thinking about coming over for a sandwich because I’m SO not in the mood for cooking.

You should stop in and try some of the Rogue Chocolate Stout Cheddar. It’s made by Rogue Creamery – they’re up the road from the brewery. This was their 1st collaborate. Cheese has the beer in it and you can definitely tell.
